I've been very lucky in my career to have worked in New York theatre, regional theatre, university theatre, television, commercials, and on cruise ships. My career has taken me around the country, and around the world. I am an active, long-time member of AEA, SAG-AFTRA, and VASTA. I have a wonderful wife, and life, and I couldn't be more thankful.
After earning my MFA from the Florida State University / Asolo Conservatory, where I trained in Meisner-based technique, I started an NYC-based acting career that spanned two decades. My "main squeeze" has been the Bard: I've been involved in nearly 20 seasons at Shakespeare festivals around the country. Take a look at my résumé for the details of my experience and skills.
In 2015, I transitioned to university teaching. I am currently an Associate Professor of Theatre Arts with tenure at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. I teach acting, voice, movement, and career prep classes for actors, and I direct plays. I still pursue professional acting and directing opportunities whenever possible.
I am a member of the AEA acting company in Illinois Shakespeare Festival's Summer 2024 season, playing 'Sir Toby Belch' in Twelfth Night, directed by Robert Quinlan. In the 2023-2024 academic year at Bradley University, I directed A Christmas Carol Radio Play in the fall, and Jaclyn Backhaus' Men On Boats in the spring. In fall 2024 at Bradley, I directed Ken Ludwig's adaptation of Dumas' The Three Musketeers.
